RE: Convention Philanthropy Project
As we gather for our 48th National Convention, we are providing an exciting opportunity for our membership to express our commitment to service through our 2008 Convention Philanthropy Project to support The Hearing and Speech Center of Florida. The Hearing and Speech Center of Florida (http://www.hearingandspeechcenter.org) is a veteran non-profit United Way community organization, located in Miami, which provides diagnosis and treatment for individuals of all ages with speech, language and hearing disabilities. Through our Convention Philanthropy Project, we are encouraging our members to collect the following items to support their programs and the children they assist:
• New or gently used childrens books (Age 6 months – 5 years) for their “Pre-Literacy Read Aloud Project”
• Blank DVD-RW’s to document children’s progress in therapy
• Photo paper
Convention attendees are encouraged to bring items from their wish list and deposit them in the collection boxes located at the registration tables during Convention. We will be presenting our collected items to The Hearing and Speech Center of Florida during National Convention.
Thank you in advance for “giving graciously” to The Hearing and Speech Center of Florida and making our 2008 Convention Philanthropy Project a great success!
